The Newseum Podcast is back with all-new episodes featuring a series of conversations with Pulitzer Prize-winning photographers. Hosts Frank and Sonya take listeners behind the scenes of some of the most iconic photographs in recent history to explore the stories behind the images.
In the first episode, available now, Damon Winter of The New York Times discusses his collection of photographs capturing Barack Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign. Winter took tens of thousands of photos of then-Senator Obama over several months on the campaign trail, and got to know the candidate so well that he could anticipate special moments that made for memorable photographs.
Future episodes in the Pulitzer Photo series will cover Hurricane Katrina, refugees in Kosovo, and the shootings of civil rights icon James Meredith and accused Kennedy assassin Lee Harvey Oswald. Subscribe to the Newseum Podcast on iTunes and never miss an episode!
