In a special members-only event at the Newseum, legendary interviewer Larry King moved to the other side of the microphone and shared stories from his 58-year career with Leon Harris, news anchor for ABC7/WJLA-TV. King reminisced – often hilariously – on a variety of personal and professional topics, including how he came to wear his signature suspenders (an ex-wife suggested them), his thoughts on the afterlife (he plans to be frozen), and the trouble he got into – and weaseled out of – with friends in high school.
After the event, members got the unique opportunity to meet King while enjoying food and drinks in the New York Times Great Hall of News. One member summed up the evening on Twitter: “Tonight was a night where magic happened and I was there. Great time at the @Newseum with @kingsthings and @LeonABC7 #Newseum #classact”
