This election year, presidential campaigns are projected to spend around $11 billion on advertising. Moderated by the Newseum’s Sonya Gavankar, this program from AD 2 DC explores where all that money goes. From previous campaign managers and chiefs of staff to advertisers from social media giants, the panelists will be discussing presidential campaign advertising with leaders from many sectors and across different ends of the political spectrum.
The program will take place on Monday, April 25, 2016 at Social Tables. Panelists will include Fiona Conroy, Senior Vice President, Mack-Sumner Communications and Adjunct professor at George Washington University; Meredith Morton, President, Pinpoint Media; Audrey Savins, Client Solutions Manager, Facebook Washington DC; and Dan Scandling, Senior Vice President, Ogilvy Washington.
This event is one of the many ways the Newseum is celebrating the launch of “CNN Politics Campaign 2016: Like, Share, Elect.” The exhibit tells the story of the 2016 presidential election in real time, and illustrates how social media has transformed the way candidates campaign, how journalists cover elections and how the public participates in the process.
Light refreshments and networking start at 6:00pm, followed by the panel discussion.
