Peter S. Prichard is chairman of the Newseum. From 1988 to 1994, he was editor-in-chief of USA Today, during which the newspaper became the largest-circulation newspaper in the nation, passing 2 million. Prichard began his journalism career in 1970 and has held a variety of newsroom management positions in newspapers and television.
From 1995 to 1997, he was senior vice president of the Freedom Forum and executive director of the Newseum. He was president of the Newseum from 1997 to 2008.
He is former chairman of the National Press Foundation and the recipient of many professional awards.
