Training

All those interested in volunteering with the Newseum are required to complete the following training:

Spring Session Calendar: June – November 2014

CORE Training:
This training introduces volunteers to the Newseum and its parent company, the Freedom Forum. Day one is spent reviewing general building policies and touring the museum from two different perspectives: content and building navigation and evacuation. Day two reviews customer service the "Newseum way," including an overview of the Newseum's obligations under Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act. Volunteers will also tour the building from a Visitor Services perspective, while reviewing the various floor positions they will be required to perform over their first two months. Below are three options from which you must select and attend if accepted into the program.
