BERLIN AIRLIFT COVERAGE:

West Berlin is a capitalist island in the Soviet sea of East Germany. In 1948, the communists try to starve it out of existence. They block supplies coming into the city. The West launches the Berlin Airlift, flying 8,000 tons of food and other daily necessities to the 2.5 million West Berliner. In May 1949, the Soviets lift the blockade.
