Amid
growing allegations, President Bill Clinton on Jan. 21 denies he
conducted an improper relationship with 21-year-old White House
intern Monica Lewinsky. Clinton also denies he urged her to lie
under oath. Audio tapes appear to contradict testimony Clinton gave
in a harassment suit brought by Paula Jones. On the tapes, Lewinsky
describes her relationship with the president. On Dec. 19, the House
votes to impeach Clinton on perjury and obstruction of justice charges.
In 1999, Clinton is acquitted.
