Gorbachev's
policies created the environment in which the wall ultimately
came down.
EXPLANATION:
Gorbachev
introduced the policies of glasnost (openness) and
perestroika (democratic reform). These policies increased
the freedoms of Eastern Europeans. They held protests and
demanded freedom of expression, freedom of the press and freedom
to travel. These changes helped to bring about the fall of
the Berlin Wall.
