Getting involved in this year's presidential election doesn't have to be limited to casting a vote in November. Pick an issue that you feel strongly about —one the candidates are already discussing or one you wish they'd discuss more — and exercise your First Amendment freedoms by organizing a rally to draw more attention to the issue. You could focus on education reform, the environment, immigration — anything that you want to change for the better. Once you've picked your cause, check out the Do Something website for ideas on how to make your rally a success.

You also can watch these videos about the civil rights movement and Occupy Wall Street for examples of how social movements past and present have used rallies as a tool to promote their ideas and agendas.
