The Newseum’s workshops for teachers present civics, history and media literacy from a fresh, multi-disciplinary perspective and provide resources and strategies so participants can take what they learn into their own classrooms.

Workshop Components and Costs 

Groups can schedule workshops Monday—Friday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. The $50 per person fee includes Newseum admission.

Most workshops require a minimum of 10 participants. For open enrollment workshop opportunities, please visit  Educator News (link to web section).

Standard length is 90 minutes – options for longer programs are available.

Workshops include an interactive lesson with a Newseum educator, a packet of resources and teaching strategies, and a gallery exploration guide.

Additional Options (additional fee applies):

  • Content talk with a subject-matter expert
  • Lunch in the Wolfgang Puck Food Section
  • Resource bag filled with books and copies of primary sources
  • Meet with a Newseum curator and examine artifacts not currently on display in the galleries
