Jordan Klepper, host of Comedy Central’s “The Opposition w/ Jordan Klepper,” appears at the Newseum to discuss his daily late-night series.
The program, which debuted in Sept., 2017, satirizes the hyperbolic, conspiracy-laden noise machine that is the alternative-media landscape on both the right and left.
The Associated Press calls the show “bitterly funny and right on target at a time when everything is in ugly dispute, especially reality.” Salon writes, “With less than a year on air, ‘The Opposition’…is already a critical part of the satire landscape.”
The Newseum program will also feature clips from the series which airs Monday through Thursday at 11:30 p.m. on Comedy Central.
Before becoming host of “The Opposition,” Klepper was a correspondent on “The Daily Show with Trevor Noah.” He joined “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” in 2014 after years as a performer at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in New York City. In June of 2017, his one-hour special “Jordan Klepper Solves Guns” premiered on Comedy Central and focused on the alarming legal obstacles and enlightening personal testimony surrounding the issue of gun violence in America.
