Barry Svrluga, a sports writer for The Washington Post, talks about his new book, “The Grind: Inside Baseball’s Endless Season.”
The book captures the frustration, impermanence and glory felt by the players, the staff and their families from the start of spring training to the final game of the year.
Barry Svrluga is the Post’s national baseball writer and has reported on and blogged about the Washington Nationals. He is also the author of “National Pastime,” which detailed the team’s relocation from Montreal and its first season in the nation’s capital.
In partnership with the Washington Nationals, the Newseum presents “Nationals at 10: Baseball Makes News,” a new exhibit opening July 31 that spotlights 10 memorable media moments of the Nationals’ first decade in the nation’s capital.
A book signing will follow the program.
