DJ Yella of the seminal hip hop group N.W.A and Lil Eazy E, whose father was a member of the group, appear in a special program at the Newseum to celebrate freedom of expression and the new exhibit “Louder Than Words: Rock, Power and Politics.”
“Louder Than Words” showcases the intersection between music and politics and examines how artists exercise their First Amendment rights to challenge assumptions and beliefs, stimulate thought and effect change. The exhibit was produced in partnership with the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland.
In addition to discussing their careers, influences and impact, they will discuss issues of free speech and other First Amendment rights.
The event is open to all Newseum members, but an RSVP is required. Members should RSVP via the link in their newsletter/invitation or by emailing email@example.com. To become a Newseum member and attend this event, please call 202/292-6287.
A VIP reception will be hosted before the program for Friends of the First Amendment Society and Corporate Engagement Program members. To learn how you can attend this VIP function, please contact Cassie Hurley at firstname.lastname@example.org or 202/292-6557.
