Join filmmaker Elvin Ross for a screening of his acclaimed documentary film, “Kunta Kinteh Island: Coming Home Without Shackles,” which chronicles the journey of the most celebrated captive African, Kunta Kinteh, whose life was characterized and featured in the TV movie and book, Roots, created by his descendant Alex Haley. The screening is sponsored by the Newseum Institute and the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS).

Newseum Institute COO Gene Policinski will have a brief conversation with Ross before the film is viewed.
