The Newseum presents a special sneak preview of the premiere episode of “Race for the White House,” a new six-part CNN Original Series narrated by Academy Award winner Kevin Spacey.
Using rare archival footage, interviews and stylized dramatizations, each hour-long episode tells the story of one iconic campaign for the presidency of the United States.
The premiere episode chronicles the 1960 campaign between Vice President Richard Nixon, the Republican nominee, and Sen. John F. Kennedy, the Democratic nominee from Massachusetts.
Former Maryland lieutenant governor Kathleen Kennedy Townsend and presidential historian Timothy Naftali, who appear in the episode, will discuss the campaign following the screening.
“Race for the White House” premieres Sunday, March 6, at 10 p.m. ET/PT as a complement to CNN’s election coverage.
