Join the Newseum Education team on Saturday, Oct. 1, 2016, for our seventh annual fall Teacher Open House. Admission is free that day for educators!
During the daylong event (9 a.m. to 4 p.m.), sample NewseumED classes, tour the galleries and broadcast studio, learn how to navigate NewseumED.org, and attend special programs and archivist sessions. Alumni from our summer teacher institute also will share how to incorporate digital tools into the learning process. Plus, get tips for planning a field trip.
As a bonus, attendees will receive a tote bag, food voucher, and discounts in our Newseum store.

A sampling of comments from last year’s attendees:
Open house attendees may purchase discounted $11 admission tickets at the door for up to five guests. Seating priority in programs goes to educators.
Teachers who RSVP in advance here will be entered into a drawing for a $250 gift certificate to The Source, Wolfgang Puck’s famous restaurant adjacent to the Newseum. We’ll also email you a reminder before the open house, which is held rain or shine. There is a pay, parking garage at the Newseum and we are a short walking distance to Yellow and Green Metro line stations.
The Comfort Inn in Washington is offering a special rate to teachers attending the open house. Follow this link to book at the rate of $119 for Sept. 30-Oct. 2, 2016.
