Jeanne Meserve

'The Flooding Here is Epic!'

CNN correspondent Jeanne Meserve, like every reporter in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina, thought the city had been spared. When the levees failed, her early eyewitness reporting gave the national television audience a powerful warning of the scope of the flooding that was under way.

Meserve covers the Justice Department for CNN and the national security beat. She provided the first national TV reports of the devastating flooding in New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina and was part of the CNN team that won a Peabody award for its coverage of the storm.
