WASHINGTON — A new exhibit, "The Eyes of History 2012: White House News Photographers Association," opens Sept. 28-March 24, 2013, at the Newseum.
The exhibit showcases dramatic, award-winning images and video from the annual competition of the White House News Photographers Association. The display features more than 70 of the best news images of the people, events and issues that shaped the nation and the world in 2011.
Top awards include Photographer of the Year, Political Photo of the Year, Video Photographer and Video Editor of the Year. Members of the WHNPA cover the president, Congress and major news events in Washington and around the world.
The exhibit also includes Newseum-produced videos featuring interviews with the winning photographers. Founded in 1921, the WHNPA has served as "the eyes of history" for 91 years.
