Pulitzer Prize Photographs
A Traveling Exhibit of Award-Winning Photography
The Newseum is taking one of its most popular exhibits to cities around the nation.
"Capture the Moment: The Pulitzer Prize Photographs," a dramatic display of award-winning photography, has appeared in 17 cities after initial exhibits in Japan and Korea. More than 2 million visitors have seen the exhibit in the United States since its New York opening in 2000.
From the poignant shot of an ailing Babe Ruth watching his number being retired at Yankee Stadium, to the U.S. Marines raising an American flag atop Mount Suribachi on Iwo Jima, the photographs illustrate the enduring power of the still image.
The exhibit includes each of the photographers and photo staffs who have won the prize since the Pulitzer board began awarding it to photographers in 1942.
An updated catalog of all of the Pulitzer Prize-winning photos is available at the exhibit’s venues.
The traveling Pulitzer show was created and is booked by Cyma Rubin (cyma.rubin@verizon.net) and the Business of Entertainment.
