Shotgunned to death April 26 outside his apartment building in the Moscow suburb of Khimki. A member of the Duma, he was also the head of MDK Bank. He published "Who's Who?," a newspaper that had recently printed a list of the former Soviet Union's 226 "crime kingpins." He was 35.
