A photographer for KRTV in Great Falls, Mont., he was killed on assignment with a station reporter. They died Jan. 12 in a 12-vehicle pileup in a dust storm caused by 50-plus-mph winds that created brownout conditions. The accident involved three tractor-trailers plus smaller vehicles and sent four other people to the hospital. He was 48.
