The photographer for the weekly Epoca was killed July 23 while covering a group of homeless people who had occupied land belonging to Volkswagen. He was approached by several men who tried to steal his camera. When he resisted he was fatally shot. The murder occurred in Sao Bernardo do Campo in Sao Paulo state.
