A freelance photographer for the daily Al-Ta'akhy, he was one of more than 100 people killed in twin suicide bombings during celebrations of the first day of the Muslim holiday Eid on Feb. 1. The bombings were blamed on Islamist extremist groups. He was covering the event when he was killed, according to a local journalist.
