The host of a radio call-in talk and interview show was fatally shot April 24 by two gunmen outside his home in Timbauba. Araujo, 37, had made several enemies in the area by discussing death squads and the involvement of well-known local figures in murders. A man who confessed to being one of the two killers said that Araujo, in a broadcast, had wrongly accused him of being a criminal, ruining his reputation.
