The manager of Radyo Natin on the island of Mindanao was fatally shot by two assailants on a motorcycle as he rode his own motorcycle to his home on the outskirts of General Santos City. Binoya, also a commentator for the station, was known for his hard-hitting political commentaries, which local journalists see as the motive for his killing. The local police chief said that Binoya had made enemies, and he had been beaten just a week prior to being killed. Authorities said witnesses have implicated a local political leader in the murder.
