Armed men broke into Hossain's home in Manikcchari late one night and said that if he did not accompany them they would kill his 2-year-old son. The journalist was taken away at gunpoint. His decapitated body was found nearby a few hours later. Local journalists contend the murder was the result of his reporting about organized crime; his wife said that he had received death threats. He was 32.
