Adam was traveling toward Karbala with another reporter May 15 after attending an editorial meeting in Baghdad when their car was ambushed by a group of armed men. The two journalists were dragged from the vehicle and had their throats cut. Their bodies were left at the side of the road in Latifiyah, about 25 miles south of Baghdad.
