The news producer for a Baghdad television station was killed June 28 by U.S. troops when he drove too close to their convoy while apparently trying to pass a traffic accident. The U.S. Embassy in Baghdad issued a statement of condolence, saying that "we are deeply saddened and hurt" and adding that "the investigation is ongoing and we are trying our best to find out the details of the accident." Bakri was in his thirties.
