Al-Radhi was shot dead by three men in a pickup truck in the southern city of Al-Amarah. He was a reporter for Radio Free Iraq -- part of the U.S.-funded Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty -- and for the independent Iraqi news agency Aswat al-Iraq. RFE/RL reported that the journalist, 37, had received threats for working for a "foreign agency" and for his opposition to extremism. He was married and had four children.
