A correspondent for the National Iraqi News Agency as well as a reporter for other news outlets, al-Haydari died when four gunmen got out of a vehicle, shot her, took her cell phone and fled. Later, a call to her phone was answered by someone who said, "She went to hell." The journalist, 44, had received numerous death threats and reportedly had been targeted for kidnapping.
