Gunmen, reportedly wearing Presidential Guard uniforms, in Gaza City stopped a taxi carrying the economics editor and a non-journalist colleague from the Hamas-affiliated newspaper Palestine and then shot them. The journalist died at the scene, his colleague died the next day, after providing details of the incident. Fatah, rival to Hamas, has denied being involved in the murders. The editor was 25; the newspaper started in May.
