The producer for a private satellite television channel apparently was killed by a U.S. military patrol as he was driving at a high speed from his home in Abu Ghraib to the station in Baghdad. A colleague said that he always drove fast to minimize danger on the road known as the "Highway of Death." It is believed that the patrol was alarmed at the vehicle’s high rate of speed and opened fire. The dead journalist was 36 and worked on documentaries and cultural programs. He is survived by a wife and children.
