Al-Rabou’e, who reported for two newspapers in Yemen, was fatally shot, reportedly because of his coverage of criminal activities. The Yemeni Journalists Syndicate called him a “martyr journalist.” He had been threatened and attacked several times since 2005. Al-Rabou’e was 34.
