Chebeya, a freelance television cameraman and reporter, was shot to death outside his house after returning home from his recording studio. Armed men in military uniforms grabbed him, took his videotapes and cell phone, and then shot him six times. Chebeya covered armed conflicts in the eastern part of the Democratic Republic of the Congo for several television stations. He was 35 and married.
