Al-Saray, an anchor for state-owned Al-Iraqiya television, was shot to death in Baghdad by gunmen who fired at his car as he was traveling to southern Iraq. Al-Saray, who was trained as a lawyer, hosted religious programs designed to bring Shiite and Sunni Muslims together. He was 35 and left a wife and three children.
