Al-Nabbous, founder of the online news outlet Libya Alhurra TV, was killed while covering a battle in Benghazi. He was streaming live audio from the fighting when his feed suddenly stopped. Described as “the face of citizen journalism in Libya,” he established Libya Alhurra TV to provide news feeds and commentary about the revolt against Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi. Al-Nabbous’s broadcasts started on Feb. 19, a month before he was killed. He was 28.
