Aden, a reporter and newscaster for Somalia’s Radio Markabley, was killed in a suicide bomb attack in Mogadishu that killed about 100 people. Radio Markabley said Aden was sent to Mogadishu to report on ongoing military operations against militants. The National Union of Somali Journalists said that “his death further underscores the great dangers facing Somali journalists who put their lives on the line to provide vital news about Somalia and its bloody conflict.” He was 24.
