Al-Wadhaf, a cameraman for the Arabic Media Agency, was shot twice in the head while covering an anti-government protest in Sana’a, the capital of Yemen. He filmed his own shooting, and was taken to a hospital, where he died five days later. The shots were fired by an unidentified rooftop sniper. Snipers had been firing into the crowds of anti-government demonstrators. Al-Wadhaf worked for the Arabic Media Agency, which provides coverage for the Saudi-based satellite news channel Al-Ekhbariya and the U.S. government-funded Al-Hurra.
