Cabezón was one of five members of a reporting team who were killed when the Chilean air force plane in which they were traveling crashed about 400 miles from Santiago, the capital. They were reporting on reconstruction efforts in a remote area that had been devastated by a 2010 earthquake and tsunami. The journalists worked for TVN’s daily morning news show. Calling the deaths “a blow to our country,” Chile’s president declared two days of national mourning. Cabezón joined TVN in 2005. He was 44.
