Kidnapped, tortured and killed, probably on March 22. A leftist Jesuit priest and editor of a weekly newspaper, he was abducted in La Paz by armed men in a green jeep. His body was later found in a ditch, mutilated and shot several times. The government blamed "para-military terrorists" for his death.
