A producer for the network's evening news program, he died Sept. 23 with ABC colleague Larry Buchman when their chartered plane crashed on takeoff from Amman. He was producing a Barbara Walters special interview with PLO leader Yasser Arafat and heading for Beirut when the plane went down. He had worked for the network in Hong Kong and Vietnam. He was 40.
