Gunned down Jan. 29 by five men in front of his home north of Guatemala City. He was a columnist for his daily newspaper and president of the Guatemala Broadcasters Association. He also worked as a press officer for the public prosecutor, who was investigating top military officials for alleged corruption and criminal activity.
