The Corporate and Foundation Relations office works to facilitate and strengthen strategic partnerships with local and national companies and foundations. The generosity of these partners enables the Newseum to bring an understanding of the personal freedoms of the First Amendment and an enriched civic education to our visitors, through relevant and high-level exhibits, programs and educational resources.
Corporations and foundations are encouraged to explore the ways they can leverage their resources through a relationship with the Newseum.
Exclusive and shared exhibit sponsorship opportunities are available for our wide array of exhibits. Each sponsorship is custom-designed to align with philanthropic or business goals. Exhibit sponsors enjoy on-site, online and media recognition for their support of the Newseum. In addition to our exhibits, the Newseum hosts a variety of programming throughout the year, featuring nationally recognized media personalities, celebrities, policy experts, authors, and politicians on myriad topics. Sponsorship opportunities exist for many of these program series as well.
As a member of the Corporate Membership Program, your company adds to its visibility and presence as a leading corporate philanthropist in Washington, D.C. Members receive access to the museum and its opening receptions and VIP events, inclusion in the Newseum’s marketing and media plans and opportunities for employee engagement.

The Newseum invites Corporate Membership Program companies at the Benefactor level and above to appoint a representative to our Corporate Council. These members will represent their company’s business interests and perspectives on policy discussions, future forecasting and strategic planning as it relates to First Amendment issues. Representatives will have the opportunity to network with the Newseum’s board of trustees, members and each other at a series of events throughout the year. For more information view our corporate council information sheet.
Microsoft joined the Corporate Membership Program in May 2016 and provided contributing support to the Information Technology Industry Council (ITI) series “Connecting the Unconnected,” hosted at the Newseum throughout the year. This initiative examined global ‘best practices’ in expanding broadband access and enhancing First Amendment freedoms around the world, with special emphasis on the Global South. We would like to thank Microsoft for their support of this important series.
