“Creating Camelot” D.C. Getaway Sweepstakes Rules

  1. Eligibility: The “Creating Camelot” D.C. Getaway Sweepstakes (the “Sweepstakes”) is open only to those who sign up at the online sweepstakes page and those who are legal residents of the United States and the District of Columbia, aged 18 years or older. Employees of Newseum (the “Sponsor”), their respective affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies, suppliers and their immediate family members and/or those living in the same household of each are not eligible to participate in the Sweepstakes. The Sweepstakes is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. Void where prohibited.
  2. Agreement to Rules: By participating, you agree to be fully and unconditionally bound by these Rules, and you represent and warrant that you meet the eligibility requirements set forth herein. In addition, you agree to accept the decisions of Newseum, as final and binding as it relates to the content. The Sweepstakes is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws.
  3. Sweepstakes Period: The contest starts 10/25/2017 and ends 11:59 p.m. ET 11/8/2017.
  4. How to Enter: Entry is via the Gleam app. Entrants must fill out the contest entry form. The entry must fulfill all sweepstakes requirements, as specified, to be eligible to win a prize. Entries that are not complete or do not adhere to the rules or specifications may be disqualified at the sole discretion of Newseum. You may enter only once and you must fill in the information requested. You may not enter more times than indicated by using multiple email addresses, identities or devices in an attempt to circumvent the rules. If you use fraudulent methods or otherwise attempt to circumvent the rules, your submission may be removed from eligibility at the sole discretion of Newseum.

    CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY ANY INDIVIDUAL TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEBSITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THIS SWEEPSTAKES IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SWEEPSTAKES ENTITIES RESERVE THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH INDIVIDUAL TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA COURTS SHALL HAVE SOLE JURISDICTION OF ANY CONTROVERSIES REGARDING THIS SWEEPSTAKES AND THE LAWS OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA SHALL GOVERN THIS SWEEPSTAKES. EACH ENTRANT WAIVES ANY AND ALL OBJECTIONS TO JURISDICTION AND VENUE IN THESE COURTS AND HEREBY SUBMITS TO THE JURISDICTION OF THOSE COURTS.

  5. Prize: The “Creating Camelot” D.C. Getaway is valued at approximately $1,487.98 and includes round-trip domestic airfare for two to Washington, D.C. (not to exceed $400 per person), a two-night stay at The Liaison Capitol Hill, two tickets to the Newseum, dinner for two at The Source by Wolfgang Puck, two tickets to George Washington’s Mount Vernon and two tickets for a D.C. tour with Big Bus.

    ADDITIONAL LIMITATIONS
    Round-trip airfare is limited to domestic flights in the contiguous United States, not to exceed $400 per person. The flight will be booked by Newseum staff, in partnership with the prize winner. Some blackout dates may apply.

    The two-night hotel stay will be rewarded in the form of a gift certificate from The Liaison Capitol Hill. Certificate is subject to availability at the hotel and is valid for Deluxe King or Deluxe Double Room Type. To reserve, individual should contact dcreservations@jdvhotels.com and identify themselves as the Newseum Sweepstakes winner. Credit card will be required at check in for incidental charges.

    Tickets to the Newseum will be awarded in (2) Newseum tickets. Tickets are non-transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash. Access to exhibits and theaters is subject to availability. Tickets are valid for two consecutive days.

    Dinner at The Source will be issued in the form of a gift certificate. This is a non-transferable gift certificate for a dinner for two at The Source by Wolfgang Puck. There are no cash refunds or substitutions for unused or partly-used gift certificates. Valid only at The Source by Wolfgang Puck in Washington, D.C.

    Tickets to George Washington’s Mount Vernon will be awarded in (2) tickets. Tickets are non-transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash. Access to certain buildings and grounds areas subject to availability.

    Tickets to Big Bus D.C. will be awarded in (2) tickets. Tickets are non-transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash. Tickets are subject to conditions as shown in Big Bus D.C. brochure.
    All certificates and tickets (if in paper form) will be mailed to the winner within one week of arranging airfare.

    The “Creating Camelot” D.C. Getaway contents are based on product availability and may be substituted for a similar product at the discretion of the Newseum. Prize must be redeemed before the “Creating Camelot” exhibit closes on Jan. 7, 2018. Prize is non-transferable. No substitution or cash equivalent of prizes is permitted. Sponsor and its respective parent, affiliate and subsidiary companies, agents, and representatives are not responsible for any typographical or other errors in the offer or administration of the Sweepstakes, including, but not limited to, errors in any printing or posting of these Official Rules, the selection and announcement of any winner, or the distribution of any prize. Any attempt to damage the content or operation of this Sweepstakes is unlawful and subject to possible legal action by Sponsor. Sponsor reserves the right to terminate, suspend or amend the Sweepstakes, without notice, and for any reason, including, without limitation, if Sponsor determines that the Sweepstakes cannot be conducted as planned or should a virus, bug, tampering or unauthorized intervention, technical failure or other cause beyond Sponsor’s control corrupt the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper play of the Sweepstakes. In the event any tampering or unauthorized intervention may have occurred, Sponsor reserves the right to void suspect entries at issue. Sponsor and its respective parent, affiliate and subsidiary companies, agents, and representatives, and any telephone network or service providers, are not responsible for incorrect or inaccurate transcription of entry information, or for any human error, technical malfunction, lost or delayed data transmission, omission, interruption, deletion, line failure or malfunction of any telephone network, computer equipment or software, the inability to access any website or online service or any other error, human or otherwise.

  6. Odds: The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.
  7. Winner selection and notification: Winner of the “Creating Camelot” D.C. Getaway will be selected in a random drawing under the supervision of the Sponsor. The contest winner will be determined at 555 Pennsylvania Ave., N.W., Washington, D.C., at 10 a.m., 11/9/2017. Winner of the “Creating Camelot” D.C. Getaway will be determined by a random draw. The “Creating Camelot” Getaway winner will be notified by email on 11/9/2017. Newseum shall have no liability for a winner’s failure to receive notices due to winner’s spam, junk e-mail or other security settings or for winner’s provision of incorrect or otherwise non-functioning contact information. A re-draw will take place 48 business hours after each date if prize winners are not able to be contacted.

    The receipt by winner of the prize offered in this Sweepstakes is conditioned upon compliance with any and all federal and state laws and regulations.

    ANY VIOLATION OF THESE OFFICIAL RULES BY ANY WINNER (AT SPONSOR’S SOLE DISCRETION) WILL RESULT IN SUCH WINNER’S DISQUALIFICATION AS WINNER OF THE SWEEPSTAKES AND ALL PRIVILEGES AS WINNER WILL BE IMMEDIATELY TERMINATED.

  8. Rights Granted by you: By entering this content you understand that Newseum, anyone acting on behalf of Newseum, or its respective licensees, successors and assigns will have the right, where permitted by law, without any further notice, review or consent to print, publish, broadcast, distribute, and use, worldwide in any media now known or hereafter in perpetuity and throughout the World, your entry, including, without limitation, the entry and winner’s name, portrait, picture, voice, likeness, image or statements about the Sweepstakes, and biographical information as news, publicity or information and for trade, advertising, public relations and promotional purposes without any further compensation.
  9. Terms: Newseum reserves the right, in its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Sweepstakes should (in its sole discretion) a virus, bugs, non-authorized human intervention, fraud or other causes beyond its control corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness or proper conduct of the Sweepstakes. In such case, Newseum may select the recipients from all eligible entries received prior to and/or after (if appropriate) the action taken by Newseum. Newseum reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers or attempts to tamper with the entry process or the operation of the Sweepstakes or website or violates these Terms & Conditions.

    Newseum has the right, in its sole discretion, to maintain the integrity of the Sweepstakes, to void votes for any reason, including, but not limited to; multiple entries from the same user from different IP addresses; multiple entries from the same computer in excess of that allowed by sweepstakes rules; or the use of bots, macros or scripts or other technical means for entering.

    Any attempt by an entrant to deliberately damage any web site or undermine the legitimate operation of the sweepstakes may be a violation of criminal and civil laws and should such an attempt be made, Newseum reserves the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law.

  10. Limitation of Liability: By entering you agree to release and hold harmless Newseum and its subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies, partners, representatives, agents, successors, assigns, employees, officers and directors from any liability, illness, injury, death, loss, litigation, claim or damage that may occur, directly or indirectly, whether caused by negligence or not, from (i) such entrant’s participation in the sweepstakes and/or his/her acceptance, possession, use, or misuse of any prize or any portion thereof, (ii) technical failures of any kind, including but not limited to the malfunctioning of any computer, cable, network, hardware or software; (iii) the unavailability or inaccessibility of any transmissions or telephone or Internet service; (iv) unauthorized human intervention in any part of the entry process or the Promotion; (v) electronic or human error which may occur in the administration of the Promotion or the processing of entries.
  11. Disputes: THIS SWEEPSTAKES IS GOVERNED BY THE LAWS OF THE UNITED STATES AND THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, WITHOUT RESPECT TO CONFLICT OF LAW DOCTRINES. As a condition of participating in this Sweepstakes, participant agrees that any and all disputes which cannot be resolved between the parties, and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Sweepstakes, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, exclusively before a court located in the District of Columbia having jurisdiction. Further, in any such dispute, under no circumstances will participant be permitted to obtain awards for, and hereby waives all rights to claim punitive, incidental, or consequential damages, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, other than participant’s actual out-of-pocket expenses (i.e. costs associated with entering this Sweepstakes), and participant further waives all rights to have damages multiplied or increased.
