Taking Horrific Pictures in Sierra Leone
Why Broadcast the Horror of War?

In 1999, videographer Sorious Samura risks his life covering atrocities in Freetown, Sierra Leone. His program “Cry Freetown” raises questions about broadcasting war reality. In 2000, Samura and three others are jailed in Liberia while working on a CNN documentary. The group is released after three weeks.
