In 1971, reporter Tom Squitieri begins his newspaper career in Pittsburgh. He joins USA TODAY in 1989 and quickly establishes himself as one of the newspaper’s top correspondents. Squitieri’s foreign assignments include fighting in Panama, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Haiti, the Persian Gulf, Burundi, Rwanda and Yugoslavia. |
