Peter Jennings joined ABC News in 1964. His vast international experience included coverage of the Vietnam War, the 1967 and 1973 Arab-Israeli wars, the 1971 India-Pakistan War and 1990s fighting in the Balkans. In 1983, Jennings was named anchor and senior editor of "World News Tonight." He co-authored "The Century" (1998), a chronicle of the 20th century. Peter Jennings died on August 7, 2005. |
