Back

Richard C. Hottelet covers the early stages of World War II for United Press's Berlin bureau. In 1941, he's arrested by the Gestapo on a trumped up charge of espionage, but later released. Hottelet joins CBS News in 1944, working in the London bureau for Edward R. Murrow. He files the first CBS Radio report during D-Day.
