The Newseum’s popular event series, Newseum Nights, returns in 2017 with a new line-up of festive after-hours events. Each Newseum Nights event is a chance to explore the Newseum’s popular exhibits and galleries while enjoying live music, hors d’oeuvres, an open beer and wine bar, and special activities.
The first party of 2017, Newseum Nights: In Bloom, will be held on April 7. It will ring in springtime with a lively celebration of Washington, D.C.’s world-famous cherry blossom season. Hosted in partnership with the National Cherry Blossom Festival, this special evening will feature a traditional Japanese drum performance by Nen Daiko and chef Wolfgang Puck’s signature Japanese dishes. Visitors can also explore the Newseum’s latest exhibits, “Louder Than Words” and “1967: Civil Rights at 50,” while hearing from the Newseum curatorial team; and take part in themed activities such as paper fan decorating and haiku writing.
