Wells Fargo Day at the Newseum Celebrates Exhibit on the LGBTQ Rights Movement

On Saturday, June 29, the Newseum will extend a special offer — free admission to the Newseum and its latest “Rise Up” exhibit for all Wells Fargo debit and credit card holders.

In partnership with Wells Fargo, the Newseum will mark the 50th anniversary of the New York Stonewall Inn protests with a day of films and gallery talks that focus on its powerful new exhibit, “Rise Up: Stonewall and the LGBTQ Rights Movement.”

Visitors must present a Wells Fargo debit or credit card and valid photo ID at the Newseum admission desk in order to receive their complimentary tickets. Limit one free admission per Wells Fargo debit or credit card customer.

Wells Fargo employees will also receive free admission with the presentation of a valid business card. Limit one free entry per Wells Fargo employee.

The Newseum will celebrate this impactful exhibit as well as the ongoing fight for LGBTQ civil rights with two film screenings. “NYU Stonewall @50” features archival footage of New York University (NYU)’s Washington Square campus and explores NYU’s unique involvement with the Stonewall protests. Additionally, the “Queen of the Capital” documentary follows drag performer Muffy Blake Stephyns as she navigates the drag and non-drag worlds.

Newseum exhibit writers will also walk visitors through the exhibit during gallery talks held throughout the day, providing behind-the-scenes information as well as their expertise on the history of the LGBTQ rights movement and contemporary LGBTQ popular culture.

“Rise Up: Stonewall and the LGBTQ Rights Movement”  is presented by Wells Fargo.
